Comments
Comments: This loop hike is 12.4 miles with 4,100 ft total elevation gain and it's a beauty. Slippery Brook trail is very pretty and is dry with easy footing. Eastman is little traveled and we had the summit to ourselves on this lovely mild Spring day. Great views. The Baldfaces are a gem with views forever. Eagle Crag is a bit of a letdown in terms of views. Care is needed for the descent down the Baldface Circle Trail as there are some tricky scrambles near the top and the trail is muddy with lots of leaves, tree roots and rocks. After a while it becomes much gentler and it's a quick and pleasant walk down ( except for the pesky bugs and the one tricky water crossing). Highly recommend this hike.
