Mt Roberts, Faraway, "Mountain View"
Working on my O10 list and needed Roberts and Faraway for 8 and 9. I Hiked the Mt Roberts trail making a quick pit stop at tge overlook. Trail was frozen and spikes were needed almost immediately. Once reaching the Mt Roberts summit I continued along the highridge trail to the Faraway spur hitting both the "mountain view" and Faraway summits.. The trail was deep snow and had minimal traffic other than myself and a post holing moose who must have sunk belly deep in places. Continued along the ridge and descended the faraway mountain trail choosing to bushwhack most of descent instead of following the criss cross of switchbacks. Still a lot of snow up there. |
