Comments
Comments: What a great 52wav hike this was for Anne L., Tim W., and me! The snow was deep and crusty down low, and deeper and powdery up high. Blazes were often down at our knees, and the Mahoosuc Trail sign was all but buried. My guess is the depth ranged from two to five feet, often putting us up in the boughs of the trees. With Tim doing the bulk of the work, we broke trail all the way, laying down what was a good snowshoe track by the time we repeated our path back down. Views from both the summit and the overlook were amazing. As anyone in the Whites today will attest, looks at the Northern Presidentials are truly magnificent right now.
