Gorgeous day on the trail. Even though road to lodge is open, construction co has posted no parking signs. Snowshoes were needed as Ridge trail only had one other set of tracks in opposite direction. Light dusting w/slight crust and soft snow underneath. Still good snow depth from Al Merrill jct to Beaver Brook Jct. (Visible trail signs were less than knee height).beaver brook trail from the shelter to Mt Jim was well packed, but had to break trail again up Moosilauke shoulder. Summit of Moosilauke mostly clear, barely even need microscopes. Gorge Brook trail is solid monorail, was pretty soft in PM Sun, a fee post holes of to side, so still deep snow pack. |
