| Comments: |
There was trace to a couple inches of fresh powder on the hard packed trail. We used microspikes most of the time. The only postholing was by a moose at the summit and the upper Ranger Trail. We did put our crampons on descending the summit because there was some ice in a few steeper spots which may have been overkill. There were a few wet spots near the bottom of the Ranger Trail. All in all the trail was in great shape. Just a little cold with the west winds today. We did get some sunshine and great views along the way. There were lots of footprints from small mammals, turkeys, grouse, and moose. With alohabuffy. |
