Comments
Comments: Snow cover started on IT, North Carter Trail had the most ice I saw all day. The black ice is dusted with fresh snow on NCT, and this is where spikes could be helpful. 2 inches of new snow with about an inch of base on CMT as well as WCRT; these two trails were in great shape. There were a few small snowdrifts on the CMT but not much to speak of. I found gaiters handy for the CMT. I think we were the only two people hiking these particular trails today, no tracks and didn't see a soul. Not enough snow for snowshoes.
