We crossed the Ellis River at the beginning of the hike-moving fast, but only one spot was challenging to cross due to some ice and a large gap between two rocks. |

My black lab was fine on this hike-there wasn't any ice that she couldn't manage and my friends and I helped her up a couple spots (one short chimney section). |

The river crossing was challenging due to icy rocks and a big jump (for me), but the trail after that was in good condition. There was some snow, some ice and great views. We used microspikes in a couple spots going up Wildcat Ridge Trail, the majority of the way down into Carter Notch and about halfway down 19-mile Brook Trail. Wildcat Ski Resort was making snow near the top of the ridge! Spent about 30 minutes on the platform eating lunch with barely any wind. |
