| Comments: |
Pine bend was icy and easy to manage in sharp spikes. Of all the trails today PBBT had the most consistent ice/monorail that started at (3000 ft). Just before the North Peak where the ice floe is thick and the trail is steep I did some tree hugging and switched in to hillsounds. The top of the south slide was completely dry and ice free. Leaving the summit of Whiteface on the RT the ice bulge was large, thick and looked sketchy but had soften enough by the time we traversed it. We spent most of the day saying 'what a beautiful day it is today' as we sat down to put our spikes on, only to take them off after 50 yards =) |
