| Comments: |
Hike took quite some time due to ice along trail, particularly going up North Baldface on the Bicknell Ridge trail. We both needed ice-cleats (not crampons), and it would have been nearly impossible otherwise, unless we bushwhacked, which would've been very difficult at times. Temperatures near summits and col were low, near 40 degrees Fahrenheit, and winds were gusting quite high. Coming down the Summit of South Baldface was free of ice, and the ledges leading towards the shelter were also free of ice, though covered with a thin flow of water in some places. |
