Comments: All the way up to where the trail and the snowmobile trail split at the sign, it's pretty muddy. Past that point, the hiking trail has significant ice in the last several hundred vertical feet before the summit. I was able to go around most of it. Microspikes might have helped but it's fairly vertical. The snowmobile trail is much easier - the ice is easier to avoid, there's less of it, and the ice you can't avoid is flat.
