Recommended Equipment: Light Traction, Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water on the Blueberry Ledge Cut Off was not an issue. Was to step over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: I moved one log that was across the Blueberry Ledge Trail. All other blow downs were too big or too old. Trail is in good shape... Just spring conditions. No trail steward can fast forward shoulder season.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: In these conditions, your dog needs to be comfortable on ice and climbing ice. Isis and I turned back at the first big ice flow up high. My rule is that if I need crampons over microspikes, she does not need to be on the trail with me.
Bugs
Bugs: My head grazed a spider web! Thankfully no ninja moves came into play.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing today.

Comments
Comments: So, I wanted to visit Whiteface and Passaconnaway today... I was aware of the ice up high and thought I'd try anyway. Down low there are some pretty bare trails. It was like it was a beautiful fall day on the cut off trail. Spikes came off and on up to the clearing then stayed on until I decided to use crampons. Isis decided that she didn't want to play today at the first ice flow... I'm not going to push her. She only wants to be with me. We headed back to the clearing for lunch. Great to meet Franco on the way back. Excellent chat about the LT. Always a great day on the trails no matter the outcome.
