A perfect morning hike up the not often visited Mt. Parker. Trail was packed out and icy up to the turn for Cave Mountain, then we followed a set of prints to just beyond the height of land on Oak Ridge, where the tracks turned around. Tracked out from there up to the summit of Mt. Parker. Firm crust on the way up, softening in the sun on the way down, only sinking in an inch or two. We were able to bareboot the entire hike, though spikes would be helpful in spots. Bluebird skies, warm sun, and no wind were the reward for our early start. Great morning out with Jake. |
