Comments
Comments: A great day for a nice big loop up Belknap. The Cross Country Ski Trails were easy walking and a nice warm up. Round Pond Trail had some significant leaf cover obscuring some minor mud pits. The Fire Road is a nice walk and the herd path had one short wet section that was easy enough to navigate over. RP-P Link was in good shape with lot of leaf cover. Boulder Trail was fun with a little scrambling on the talus and some excellent open ledge walking higher up. Some water seeping on the ledges making for some slippery spots. East Gilford Trail was a nice cruise up to the top of Belknap. Blue Trail was in great shape with all the recent work done by BRATTs. Looked like someone had been up there with a leaf blower because the trail was pretty clear of leaves. The Overlook Trail was a bit obscure near the top due to the leaf cover on the ground so follow blazes carefully. Down low it opened up to some nice views and easier walking. Trekking poles are recommended right now for added stability with all the slippery leaves under foot.
