Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We had to park on in the small lot on the right 100 yd before the Reel Brook Tr. There are large rocks poking up in the enterance to the lot. I'm not sure if my Civic would have made it. My pick up would have no problems. I was the first and last car parked at the Basin (8 am and 6:30 pm).
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All were easy rock hops today.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Overall the trails were in good shape. Dodge Cutoff has newer signs at each end but id still brushy on he northern half. Kinsman Ridge Tr had a couple blowdowns along the Cannon Balls but nothing major.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: This would be a tough route for inexperienced trail dogs. The ladder on Hi Cannon Tr is made of 2x4s making for narrow rungs. This was Marlie's third time up it and she climbed it like a champ. Heading south off Cannon along the Kinsman Ridge Tr is very steep and some dogs may feel uncomfortable or have trouble. One guy and pup were asking if there were an easier way back down. Heading south off of South Kinsman is very steep as well. There is some water along the ridge but I reccommend bringing a bottle for your dog just incase.

Comments
Comments: Thnaks Matt for the car spot and making this unusual traverse happen. We both picked up some red lines and I'm glad you finally got views from Cannon (they do exist afterall). I even got to try out my new headlamp for the last 4 miles.
