Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Road was good - a dirt road with a few small rocks here and there. Parking lot is small, the vehicles already there were thoughtfully parked so as not to take up unnecessary space. Parking lot nicely maintained. Only one blow down, we climbed over it.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two tiny ones, a few minutes into the hike
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Very good! Easy to follow trail, good blazes. One question, though... Some people have missed the path to the summit. Not us, we noticed a rock with a green blaze. Some one made an arrow with sticks on it. Would it be possible to have a small sign there?
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw two coming down with their ladies. They looked like they had a good time. Remember to bring enough water.
Bugs
Bugs: A few flying around, did not bite.

Comments: Blueberry Mountain Trail (from Long Pond Road)

A beautiful choice for days where you don't have all day! For late summer they should call it "Huckleberry Hill" instead of Blueberry Mountain. Plenty of those! Pretty woods, nice mossy areas, and wonderful ledges for the top half of the hike. Great views of Moosilauke (which had its socked in areas. Do be careful not to miss the turn off for the summit.
