Comments
Comments: The trails were in generally good condition except as noted in the trail maintenance section. No tree falls in to the trails. Mud areas were limited today and easy to traverse. Some of the ledges may be difficult when wet or icy.
Just south of the summit of North Kinsman there is a short side path to a ledge. Another short side pass from this ledge leads to a second lower ledge that permits a view down to Kinsman Pond.
South Kinsman's summit is marked by a large cairn. The open summit allows for a 360 degree view including many VT summits.
Hiked with Iris from Tufts U on the Kinsman Ridge Trail from Cannon Mtn to Kinsman Pond. Met many other hikers including a co-worker, the Kinsman Pond caretaker, and many others.
Great views from the Hi-Cannon ledges and the mountaintops. Routes passes by both Kinsman Pond and Lonesome Lake.
