Comments
Comments: Did this one with Monica and the Random Group of Hikers. There were at least two AMC Groups and a bunch of people out on their own. We started out bare booting but many quickly changed to snow shoes once the climbing started. The trail was solid but the beauty of winter hiking is being able to use heel lifts on the steeps. The ledges weren't a problem at all - in fact they were easier to climb than they were earlier in the season. The is a spot about a half mile before the trail junction of the Rollins Trail and Dicey's Mill Trail where we made the mistake of following the foot prints of someone who also made the mistake of following someone else's footprints. The trail went right/west but we all went left/east and had an unnecessary bushwhack to get back to the trail - I went back and blocked off both our wrong turn and our exit spot with branches to try and make it a less traveled mistake. Wore snowshoes all the way to the house at the bottom of Dicey's Mill Trail.
