19 Mile Brook is very well packed. Bare booted to junction of Carter Dome Trail. Put on microspikes for next section. Put on snowshoes for Wildcat Ridge Trail. There has not been a lot of traffic on this section. Saw traces of a track, deep drifts. When I got to the left turn there were no tracks so I stayed on the beaten path for a short while until it didn't look so good. I bailed out and came straight down through the woods and landed on the trail. Trail was fairly easy to follow with some deep drifts. On the way down I stayed on the trail and tried to mark the left turn for the next hiker. |
