Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Wow... Packed in the AM. When I got back (early) in the afternoon, there was one car blocked in by another, cars blocking the road access of those of us parked head in... Two little openings between the parallel parked cars by the road. I was praying that I didn't hit anyone as I was a little blocked in and I was also praying that I didn't get stuck in the snow that was at the trail head. Yikes!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Standing/Running Water on Trail, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow/Ice - Postholes, Slush
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Snowshoes
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Bridged or crossable by step over.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of branches down on the lower half of 19 Mile Brook due to heavy snow. I moved a lot of them. Lots of post holes to navigate... Let the battle begin. ;)
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Isis had a get day... Really she loves winter. She just doesn't like falling in post holes. She's not a trail breaker which was a factor in our turn back.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None.

Comments
Comments: Today was a hard day... It seems that I was the only one heading to the Cat's from 19 Mile and that was discouraging as it's hard to be solo and break trail without really exhausting one's self. BUT I gave it a go. It was a great snowshoe out there save for the post holes. People, wear your snowshoes and don't just carry them... Save the pack weight and the trail at the same time. I am walking away from this area for a while as it has bested me far too many times. Time for a break and to focus on other areas. I'll catch up with rounds and things when I am ready.
