Comments
Comments: 19MB was well packed out by the hut crowd. Bare boot or Microspikes were all that was needed. The story changed on Wildcat Ridge Trail. High winds created some knee deep and higher drifts, especially in the first 1/4 mile. After that there was 6-10" of new snow with a few deeper drifts. About half way up we ran into a solo hiker going the other direction so we appreciated the track he made. As we approached the ridge another solo hike came up from behind. We made a nice track but it's not likely to last with the wind and coming forecast. The winds we nasty today and seemed to blow right through the trees and kept the single digit temperatures a frigid below zero wind chill. Polecat ski trail was a well groomed Styrofoam. Not too many skiers out today. The 3rd blue sky day this week!
