Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, September 15, 2014
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Lots available.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: easy.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 2 blowdowns. One on Welch ascent (to the R on the loop) within the first 3/4 mile large tree will need a chainsaw or lots of ax work; can step over with mild difficulty. Second about 1/2 mile or so from the bottom of the Dickey descent; small saw work would take care of it and it's an easy walk around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Steep sections here and there but a dog used to hiking will be fine. Espen had a happy day, with even a few bonus water holes.
Bugs
Bugs: none.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Size L black cotton Hanes "hoodie" sweatshirt with white lettering "Don't treat on Me" with a serpent logo found just beyond the Welch overlooks. I hung it on the parking fee sign.

Comments
Comments: Only one in the lot (of course it was very early) both when I left and when I returned. Great small hike. Some color starting to develop in the foliage.
