Comments
Comments: beautiful day on the trail! bushwack to scaur was really easy; snow was very firm. nice open woods; we left pine bend just below the junction with scaur ridge trail. there is frequent deep evidence that a lot of people think they don't need snowshoes right now; some postholes must have been made by a really tall person cause they were deep! a lot of side slope that was hard to walk on. south slide was quite slippery. snow had thawed and frozen and was still very firm when we got there; very tough to get a grip. crampons would be a good choice. kate sleeper trail was untracked and we lost it; bushwacked over west and picked it back up again before we got to east. after east the trail had seen more traffic, but not recently. rollins trail is packed and postholed. from passaconaway cut off to the parking area is well packed out; looked like a large group in snowshoes had been thru. snow softened up in the sun by the end of the day. great to see schorman and lady di! great day out with bob and wayne
