| Comments: |
Rattle River Tr started dry and crusty but we put on light traction after about ten minutes and kept them on the rest of the day. Able to avoid one crossing by bush whacking along the left side of the Rattle River and cross where there is a fork in the river back to the trail. Beyond the final brook crossing and just as you begin climbing steeply, about 2600', the trail turns into an ice flow. This can be avoided at this time by bush whacking slightly off trail and keeping parallel to it all the way up to the bog bridges. Kenduskeag Tr was icy as well but passable today. |
