| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Pretty good shape. Carter Moriah and Wildcat Ridge (up to A) could use brushing. Large walk around blowdown on climb up to A remains, but we cleared a few others along the way. Wildcat Ridge between A and D felt in much better shape than prior years. |

We were expecting to find wet sticky snow after yesterday's storm but pleasantly surprised to find a few inches of powder over mostly packed trails. Imp trail & North Carter trail hasn't seen any traffic yesterday so 4-6" of fresh powder down low and 2-4" up high. Once on the ridge, evidence of some traffic yesterday, only a couple inches of fresh powder on top of packed trail to Zeta Pass - made for some great snowshoeing/glissading. Up to Carter Dome was a bit deeper/drifted. Met one person coming from hut. Now it's all packed out. Heading into the notch from Carter dome was a combination of glissading and butt-sledding, not much ice to speak of. Up to Wildcat A, 4" of powder on top of a post-holes mess but we smoothed it out a bit and its starting to resemble a snowshoe track. From A, we saw tracks from a group doing an out n back who left a perfect snowshoe track. Made the trip across the ridge a
breeze. Descended from D on ski trails. No issues as it was near closing time and most skiers were done for the day. Great day out - skies cleared and enjoyed some blue skies, sun and views of Presis with some undercast from Middle Carter before thing clouded up again. This one wrapped up Jeff's February grid - just in the nick of time. |
