Comments
Comments: With the forecast, I thought it would be socked in fog and chilly but the Presidentials were out until almost noon and spectacular ascending the Polecat. Ski patrol were asking for passes however exceptionally polite and friendly. I was told if you forget you can purchase at the top. Ridge was rock hard. Switched from spikes to crampons at the view platform on D. Appreciated having extra traction for several ice flows descending from both D and C. With care spikes were adaquate. Today was one of those days I carried snow shoes because I always do -- knowing I would not need them. Great day out. Thanks karen! We stopped at International Mountain Equipment driving south. Rick and Celia Wilcox had a great event going to raise money for Mountain Rescue. Really nice to see so many climbers in North Conway and re-connect with Kevin Bourque who has developed a very unique face mask. www.outeru.com is the website I believe. He told me its great in cold as well as sun.
