Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The section between kate sleeper and downes brook made a deep impression on me. Never ever seen so many down trees. There have been maintenance efforts but allow 20-30 minutes extra to push, pull and shove your body and pack through this section.

Comments
Comments: Robie and I started up Sabbaday Brook at 6:15am. The trip up the brook was uneventful. There is some frozen material up the last steep section of the trail but it was easily avoidable. The same was true over to North Tri-pyramid and back across the ridge. The slide down from south was bare.

The conditions across the sleepers were uneventful until the junction of kate sleeper. From there conditions were rough. The trail is almost indiscernible between the down trees and torn up roots. As the terrain flattens out crew have taken out branches so that you can climb over under and through down trees.

At Downes Brook intersection things get back to normal and there was a little bit of ice and some ice sections that we able to avoid to the top of Whiteface. There are some major ice sections as you descend Whiteface and I put on microspikes until rollins flattened out a bit. There were several downed trees on this section but much easier to navigate.

The trip over to Passaconaway and down was more of the same on the ice but had very few down trees. We got back to the parking lot at 4pm.
