| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
success pond road in ok shape. roughest driving was in the first mile from hutchins road and after that it just took a little care in spots. there is a deep culvert missing just before the goose eye trailhead. some might want to park below it and just walk up the road. |

water crossings were all fine and welcomed for a quick splash and cool down. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
minor blowdown all along the route with a couple larger ones low on the goose eye trail. some brushing in spots on the goose eye trail would be good as well. |

black flies and mosquitoes were out in the morning down low, but weren't bad higher up. |

| Comments: |
trails were generally dry with the exception of short muddy stretches along the whole route. some wet ledge as well. the roadwalk between trailheads is quick, but it was very hot out in the full sun today.
beautiful day in the mahoosuc range. i had a hard time with the heat today and it took its toll on me, but still a great day out. some real nice walking up there.
