Today's adventure was a bushwhack up Gilman Pond Mountain in Lexington Township. I ascended using logging roads and skid roads from the west. I saw a cow moose in the woods on the way up. Upon reaching the summit, I found a very unique way of obtaining a view. Someone had cut steps into a large stump, about 10 feet tall. The top of the stump had been fashioned into a seat of sorts. After enjoying the views from the stump, I continued along the south ridge, checking out a few ledge areas, before descending. |
