From Berlin the trailhead can be reached in anywhere from 35-45 minutes..Success Pond Road good in places, not so good in others just take your time..couple of rocky spots where the road was fixed..looks like active logging after the road splits to go to Success Pond and the other to Maine...OHRV opens tomorrow so we shall see how the road holds up... |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
first one is very dry now as the brook seems to be completely diverted..second one easy on rocks as that flow also has been changed somewhat this year... |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
this was a trail check and maintenance day..started pretty early to try to beat the heat..sawed up about a dozen obstacle blowdowns a couple big ones, many easier ones, there's a couple step overs left..cleaned some water bars..trimmed some of the worse in your face protruding whips and branches..still many left!! |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Did see one headed to Speck Pond and Old Speck out to Rt. 26, with its 2 humans.. |

| Bugs: |

| Comments: |
Trail cruise and work day..after the sharp turn the trail does not have an adopter so trying to get a lot done up there, but there was also many small blow downs and debris in trail that needed to be removed..maybe made it about 2/3 way to pond then time to turn around...many thanks to Larry and Andy and Kathy for helping above the sharp turn (and down low if needed!!) |
