In the morning, we made the very short drive to the Caribou Trailhead, where we the only car in the parking lot. The hike up the Mud Brook Trail was pretty straightforward with only a few minor areas of mud and snow.

After spending well over an hour enjoying the amazing views at the summit, we continued north on the Mud Brook Trail. This section between the summit at the Caribou Trail had significant areas of snow and ice which were easy to post-hole in. Some sections of ice may have been helpful to use microspikes on, but we did not end up putting ours on. All of the waterfalls on the way down were beautiful, and none of the stream crossings were much of an issue. Amazingly, we didn't see anyone else during the entire hike!
