| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The Carrabassett Pond Rd is open and free of snow. There are a few muddy spots, jutting rocks and culvert depressions to warrant caution. There were plenty of available spots near the CPR gate. |

Carrabasset Pond (Valley) Road, AT, AT Spur (up/down)
I highly recommended snowshoes for the last 1 mile on the AT before reaching the intersection with Sugarloaf Spur. This would be 1.3 - 2.3 miles from the Carrabassett Pond (Valley) Rd. Post-holing took a lot of fun out of the trek that could have been avoided with proper equipment/footing. From the spur intersection, there is enough stability and underlying monorail that post-holing is rare at the moment. |
