Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The route to the trailhead, true to what is described in the MMG (off Pinkham Road), was easily passible with my small honda (after about 40 miles of dusty dirt roads, lol). The trail is unmarked and located behind a small borrow pit (cairn atop rock outcrop). The trail, which is obvious but unmarked, is a recently improved access road for the com towers.

Comments
Comments: The service road atv trail starts behind the gravel pit and runs straight up the mountain, steeply with loose footing. At about midway, where there are switchbacks, it gets pretty muddy. Just before the top of the ridge the trail splits: left fork (over slabs) runs to some small towers and outbuildings; the old fire tower stub is directly behind them with spare views from the ladder. The right fork leads up to the ridge thence north along it to the open bluff. There's a new com array up there with solar panels and an aluminum helipad right at the top of the open bluff. Big signs warning against trespass and loitering; not sure if they apply to the equipment or the entire bluff (if the latter, I'd assume they'd post the trailhead as well). It's my understanding that the facility is owned by the Canadian Border Patrol (strange, right?). Great views but hard to decide if the insanely long dirt road ride was worth the two mile hike or not.
