Comments
Comments: Today I did some hiking and exploring in Sandy River Plantation. I parked at the end of Rock Pond Road where the Saddleback Trailhead of the Fly Rod Crosby Trail is. After signing the register, it wasn't long before the trail reached Rock Pond. Rock Pond is a small and picturesque pond which had a few canoes on its shore.

From here I soon turned on to the Stream Bed Trail which passed through some very nice forest and descended before rejoining the Fly Rod Crosby Trail. I followed the Fly Rod Crosby Trail until it reached the multi-use trail. Near this intersection were the remains of a large logging camp which I explored a bit before heading back the way I came.

My next stop was at Midway Pond. Here, I used one of the canoes on the shore to paddle around the pond for a bit. Then I hiked the spur trail to the outlooks. One outlook looks over Midway Pond while the other faces Rangeley Lake. The foliage was especially pretty at the outlook towards Rangeley Lake.
