| Comments: |
First time on Borestone Mountain. It is a nice hike with great views. Lots of lakes. Audubon info center by Sunrise Pond. There are scrambles up some of the ledges on the Summit Trail that would be difficult in wet or icy conditions. Turkey Vultures were gliding around the summit. Nice fall foliage.
Many hikers including a women's hiking group from Greenville ME, a VA couple, an Iowan couple, a guy from Monroe ME, and the Audubon caretaker.
The only downside is that it is a 4 hour drive to the trailhead. |
