Comments
Comments: Cool start windy, 20-30 mph w/ 50 mph gusts forecast. Nice warmup to Katahdin Stream Falls, beautiful views here. Windy all day caused many to turn around once at tree line. Fun starts here with iron rungs for help up huge boulders. Slow going tough scrambles....then an 800 foot climb in maybe .8 miles. Winds lessened across the Tablelands but soon returned in force. Photos at top, ducked out of wind. Views for miles, never gets old. Folks doing Knifes Edge, crazy in this wind. Missed those who raised the flag to remember 9/11. We too carried one & displayed at the sign. Past a thru hiker finishing then met his family in the lot. He was right behind us, we toasted & shared a beer & shot of whiskey with him. Great way to finish our hike!! Shout out to Life Alert! Nice to meet you!
