| Comments: |
The first 2 miles of Cold Brook Trail are confusing, many logging roads and snow mobile trails. Here is my recollection. Go left at gate and sign. After cabin go left then immediate right. Go right at next 2 intersections, look for small cairns that are hard to see in the tall grass. Trail then passes into a very overgrown area, difficult to stay on the trail. Overgrown area ends abruptly a WMNF border. The rest of the trail is easy to follow. The ledges were dry. Top part of Great Brook is very steep, bottom part is a flat logging road. Except of 5 people at the Speckled summit, only saw 5 people all day. |
