Cool and breezy temps for Redington/South Crocker loop yesterday. I chose to go clockwise per recommendation of others; I must say it was nice getting the road walking over with at the beginning of the hike. Logging trails off Caribou Valley Rd were in good shape--it is a straightforward climb up Redington with cairns and flags to light your way. Short section towards the top at ~3500 ft before Redington spur was loaded with moose skat, but that was the only sign of them I saw all day. I was the last entry in yellow logbook at the top of Red, going to need a fresh booklet now! I grabbed a bite and scooted down the AT, up and over S Crocker and back down to CVR. Met a few Southbounders on S Crocker, best of luck the rest of the way. |
