| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The access roads were in reasonably good shape and I was able to get down them with my Honda Fit (I don't have the sport model running boards that reduce clearance) but you have to keep an eye out for cobbles kicked up by logging trucks. |

A pretty easy hike to this remote peak via the old fire warden's trail, still maintained and very easy to follow. AMC-MMG has good directions on how to get to the trailhead, which is marked by a small cairn. The fire tower is cut off partway up and the platform is rotted. Audubon uses it for migratory bird tracking apparatus. My view was socked in at the top but I did get great views from a clearcut area along the way up. The cannister log hadn't been signed in weeks but I did pass two people coming up as I was going down. Will be creating an article on my website about this trip shortly. |
