Comments
Comments: The lower portion of the trail for the first mile had been broken, but by someone in boots and not snowshoes. The snow was quite deep and unconsolidated so we just smoothed it over with our snowshoes. After that mile, it was untouched. We broke trail up to the summit. I goofed in 2 spots and got slightly off trail but corrected pretty quickly. Sorry about that. The Woodsum Spur has some deep drifts. There were a total of 5 of us breaking and packing but it is still really soft and not consolidated. Both trails could use some additional folks on snowshoes to pack it down. It is definitely not ready for spikes.
