Marston started very nicely broken by our friends in a previous group. Snow overnight filled in the track above the pond. The spur up to North was very filled in and drifted. Basically, break trail from there up. Coming out of the trees, the snow was deep and not that consolidated. It hid the pitfalls in between the boulders really well. When you break out of the trees, the path to the summit is up to your individual judgement based on conditions. There is no visible prior path.
Lots of snow stuck to branches at higher elevations. The usual tree tunnel snow globe conditions. |
