Laura and I wanted a full day of hiking and since we finished the East Grafton Loop so early we decided to go up and down Old Speck. Love the Eyebrow trail with all the hand rails and iron bars and big view of the Baldpates. Met at least a dozen AT thru hikers making their way Nobo. After being on the East Side and only seeing a couple people the entire time, this felt wicked busy but it really wasn't just kept meeting people like you'd expect for a popular peak. And it deserves all the popularity because the views from the tower were the best and clearest I've seen all year, the full panorama filled my eyes and heart. This certainly made up for being socked in the previous day. |
