Plenty of room at the trailhead off route 113 that is now open to traffic. The outhouse had signs that the facilities were closed for public use (perhaps seasonally closed). Appeared to be all ME plates. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
There are many crossings of Morrison Brook on the Caribou Trail. The lowest crossing is easiest to cross upstream from the official trail where the brook splits in to three channels that reduced the depth of water for each crossing. The brook crossings became easier with elevation gain on the Caribou Trail. The brook crossings on the Mud Brook trail were not difficult. |

Trails in good condition. The few blow downs were easy step overs. There are very few cairns or blazes on the ledges in the summit area on Caribou Mountain so hikers must be observant (wilderness area). |

Many black flies but overall not too bothersome. Got a couple of them in the eye. |

 | Comments: |
The falls and cascades viewable on the Caribou trail were magnificent today. There were small stretches of snow especially on the north slope of Caribou Mtn on the Mud Brook Trail. Snowshoes would not be practical as the snow patches were interrupted by sections of rock with running water. There were great views from the dry summit ledges as the cloud deck was higher than the surrounding mountains.
All hikers were friendly and practicing social distancing. Saw some Red Trillium and Painted Trillium down low. |
