Wanted to get in some land navigation practice on a local mountain. Lake Mtn is a 1200 foot peak in the Dixfield/Carthage area. We learned that the ATV trail does go to the summit. But we elected to bushwhack much of the climb for compass use practice. Cute peak that gives surprisingly nice views of Mount Blue on one side and all the way to the White Mtns on the other. |
