Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Center Hill road turns to dirt/gravel a short distance past the day use picnic area. This is a good road. Turn left onto Mt Blue Rd to access the trailhead and parking lot. This is also a dirt/gravel road that is much more narrow than Center Hill. It is also a good road for any vehicle to traverse. Some larger rocks protrude through the road bed but they can be avoided. The parking area can hold up to 15 cars.

Comments
Comments: Popular, unrelenting upward climb on the west side of Mount Blue in Mount Blue state park. Roughly 3.4 miles round trip. No exposed ledges or cliffs. Short, very mild (by Maine standards) rock scramble near the summit. But what would Maine summits be without their “end of trail rock scrambles?” There are communications buildings at the top. You are permitted to climb to the observation deck on the cell tower that was built to look like a fire tower. Nice views.

This trail is not blazed but is highly travelled and easy for novices to follow. It is signed at the start and end. This is a highly maintained trail.

No other persons out for gallivant on this trail today. This is probably the first time I have not met a soul on this trail.
