1 minor duck-under while climbing up the notch wall |

No major obstacles. There are regular water sources until you get out of the notch. Bring water for the upper sections. |

A couple mosquitoes down low and late in the day. Didn't even bother with bug spray. |

Everything is in good shape. The access road is long and unpaved, be patient and vigilant for rocks. No part of this trail is particularly tough, but it's long enough to make it feel tough. Honestly, the views from Old Man's Head are 98% as good as from the summit. It felt like we'd already seen the views once we got there... We could just make out Katahdin on the horizon, so that was pretty neat :) |
