Comments: Last day of a three day backpack.
We woke at Center Pond Lean-to and worked our towards the west drainage, climbing over the bump just east of the pond. Woods were tight in places leaving the shelter. We obtained the drainage and worked our way up towards the peak, using old roads at times. We continued up the slope, finding some very nice open woods. Going was steep and jumbley, but good. When we got to the top we worked our way towards the 2981 peak. Going was thick and scrubby. Very nice views from the sub peak, though weather precluded us seeing anything. We worked our way to the high contour, having some difficulty finding the highpoint. We returned by the same route, except that we followed the drainage all the way down to the trail and then walked about a mile back to the Pond on trail. We much preferred this variation.

This hike finished the Maine 200 highest for me. Thanks bryan for joining on this and the majority of the most demanding bushwhacks on this list.
