Comments
Comments: Much better luck from this side! Nice footbed for the most part. LOVE walking on pine needles. Lord Hill itself doesn't have the views, continue a couple minutes more and there are ledges. There are also blueberries there just starting to ripen. This was a good hike for a hot day, because most of it was in the shade. Evergreen sections felt 10 degrees cooler. We descended on the Mine Loop. Interesting site - a former mica mine. There is an old abandoned refrigerator there. Nice descent, then the trail takes a sharp turn, bringing you back to the Conant Trail. A lot of this is either flat or gradual. Stone walls and another foundation. Brings you back to the Horseshoe Pond Trail and to your car before you know it.

Almost forgot - the hike practically starts with a grave! Olive Styles, from the 19th century.

We'll be back to get there portions we missed!
