Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We drove in east Inlet Road in Pittsburg, NH for over 10 mi. to the road shown on many maps including USGS that heads east north of Mt. Kent and crosses the Moose Bog Brook after less than 1/2 mi. We drove to the crossing, which was not bridged and parked. East inlet has some slightly washed out steeper sections, but is mainly good. I could have driven it in my small car, though bryan's mid-clearance was better. Bowmantown, ME is gated. The best access we've found is from Pittsburg, NH.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Most crossings on roads had bridges. One bridge was mainly collapsed with a reasonable alternative rock hop. No remaining bridge over Magalloway river, but very reasonable rockhop on this route.

Comments
Comments: Upper Black Pond Mountain is in Bowmantown, ME and is named as such on Peakbagger; Bowman Farm South Peak is an alternate name; altitude is 2560

We walked the road to just over 2100 feet and bushwacked east to catch the east/west running road north of Ledge ridge. Once on that road, we followed it to the road that works up the peak to the col between the peak and the sub-peak to the west. We followed this road to the col and bushwhacked up through cuts. We returned the way we came and crossed the Magaloway river. We followed roads along the west slope of Upper Black Pond Mountain and then bushwhacked up. We visited both equal highpoints. We returned by a similar route.

In general, the bushwhacks presented very thick low-growth and some challenging footing. We hit some spruce on the ridge of Upper Black Pond Mountain.

Ledge ridge summit is recognized. Both the north and south bumps on UBPM are recognized. We supsected the south bump was higher. It is the north bump that is marked on peakbagger.com
