Trail in great shape, rocks were dry. Once you hit table land the wind was ripping. Gust were easily at 50 mph. Required a shell with a hood. I didn’t wear gloves but could of and it wouldn’t have been overkill. Still plenty of snow looking down at chimney pond from summit. I asked Ranger back at station after signing out why saddle trail was still closed? He said because of snow... believe it or not he said some sections still had 8ft of snow between chimney pond & saddle slide... 8 ft sounds like a stretch but the trail is still closed and that’s coming from a Ranger. 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸ Any way, fun day. |
