Comments
Comments: Bald Peak Tr was great - could go either way with snowshoes or microspikes. Sue's Way to tower was in pretty decent shape so again, either snowshoes or spikes. North Ridge Tr from the tower to the junction with Bald Peak Tr was rough. It was packed out at some point but now, it's got a bunch of post holes - some are small snowshoe size. Going around the backside, you couldn't really wear snowshoes though since it's rather narrow with a drop off. The new Janine's Overlook is nice but not marked and the boot/snowshoe path is more well defined over to the new overlook than it is for the rest of North Ridge Tr to the summit of Big Bald - we did end switching to snowshoes from the overlook to the summit (ps the overlook isn't on the map I could find online from Loon Echo Trust). We used microspikes on our descent on Bald Peak Tr - snowshoes would have been skis down, especially until the junction for Sue's Way.
